Call for Nominations: IUNS Lifetime Achievement Award

Do you want to take part in the upcoming ICN? Have you thought about taking part by nominating someone who deserves an IUNS Lifetime Achievement Award? The IUNS Lifetime Achievement Award honours individuals who have made exceptional contributions to nutrition, impacting lives on a regional or global scale, particularly in developing countries. This is your opportunity to recognise a leader whose work has transformed the field of nutrition and improved the well-being of countless individuals.

Dr. Anna Lartey, the awardee in 2022 at ICN Tokyo, shared what it means to her to be honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award:

Do you want to shine a spotlight on a visionary leader in nutrition like Dr Lartey? We are seeking nominations for individuals who have:

  • Shaped National, Regional, or Global Policy: Has your nominee played a pivotal role in influencing policies that drive positive change in nutrition?
  • Improved Quality of Life: Has their work significantly enhanced the well-being and life quality of communities, especially in nutrition science?
  • Made Groundbreaking Research Contributions: Has their research made a lasting impact on the field of nutrition science?

Eligibility Requirements

  • Current IUNS Council members are not eligible for nomination.
  • Nominating bodies must be in good standing with IUNS (no dues in arrears for 3 years or more). If you’re unsure of your status, please contact the IUNS Secretariat.

Selection Process

An anonymous Awards Committee, appointed by the IUNS President and representing diverse regions, will evaluate all nominations. The committee will recommend one outstanding candidate for the award.

Call for Nominations for IUNS Council 2025-2029

FOR IUNS MEMBERS ONLY

All IUNS Adhering Body Members in good standing are invited to nominate candidates for the IUNS Council 2025-2029. Nominations are sought for six (6) Council member positions and four (4) Officer positions, namely:

  1. President-Elect
  2. Vice-President
  3. Treasurer
  4. Secretary-General

Nominees must be aware of and willing to assume the responsibilities of IUNS Council membership and the time commitment involved. More information on the duty and the commitment of each position can be found in the IUNS STATUTES AND RULES.

Every eligible IUNS Adhering Body organisation may nominate no more than one (1) name for each Officer position and six (6) names for Council member position.

According to the IUNS STATUTES AND RULES, Adhering Bodies shall nominate candidates for President-Elect from among members of the current Council (2022-2025).

Adhering Bodies may propose the same person for a Council and an Officer position.

The election will be held in August 2025, during the ICN in Paris. All elected Council members will take office at the end of the General Assembly (24-29 August 2025) and serve for four years, except for the President-elect, who will take office first as President-elect and after the General Assembly in 2029, as President for an additional four years.

Eligible Adhering Bodies are welcome to submit the nominations via the online application platform by Friday, 30th November 2024.
