In 2026, the International Union of Nutritional Sciences (IUNS) celebrates its 80th anniversary.

To mark this milestone, IUNS will bring together current and former IUNS leaders, representatives of IUNS Adhering Bodies and Regional Affiliated Bodies, partners, and members of the wider global nutrition community to celebrate 80 years of advancing nutritional science and international collaboration.

The celebration will also look towards the future of nutrition and the next generation of nutrition professionals, including the launch of IUNS’ first Early Career Committee.

IUNS is pleased to offer a limited number of complimentary places at the anniversary celebration for postgraduate students and early-career researchers in nutrition.

This is an opportunity to:

  • connect with international nutrition leaders and colleagues;
  • exchange ideas and perspectives with peers from different countries and backgrounds; and
  • take part in discussions about the future of nutrition and early-career engagement.

The event will begin with a light lunch and networking, followed by the formal programme and an evening drinks reception.

The programme will bring together highlights from IUNS’s 80-year history, perspectives from across the global nutrition community, and an interactive session looking towards the future of nutrition.

14:00–16:30 | IUNS: 80 Years and Beyond

  • Highlights from IUNS’s history, achievements and contribution to the global nutrition community
  • Perspectives and local highlights from experts representing different regions of the world, including Latin America, North America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Oceania

16:30–18:00 | Interactive Workshop: Shaping the Future of Nutrition

  • Reflections on the changing landscape of nutrition and the role of international collaboration
  • An interactive session bringing together experts and global nutrition leaders
  • Opportunities to exchange perspectives, explore emerging priorities and discuss the future of nutrition and international collaboration

Please note that the programme is currently being finalised and may be subject to change.

This opportunity is intended for postgraduate students, postdoctoral researchers and early-career professionals or researchers working in nutrition or a related field.
