IUNS Award Application – Privacy Notice
This Privacy Notice explains how the IUNS collects and processes personal data in relation to the IUNS Jo Hautvast Nutrition Leadership Award application process.
1. Data we collect
We may collect the following information as part of your application:
- Name and contact details (including email address)
- Employment and institutional affiliation details
- Copy of passport (for identity verification purposes)
- Letters of recommendation and supporting documents
- Information confirming affiliation with an IUNS Adhering Body
2. Purpose of processing
Your personal data is used to:
- Assess eligibility for the IUNS Award
- Verify identity and institutional affiliation
- Support the review and selection process
- Prevent fraud, misrepresentation, or duplicate submissions
- If you are selected as the award recipient, IUNS may invite you to provide a short biography (approximately 100 words), a photograph, and your 12-month post-award report for publication on the IUNS website and other IUNS communications. Provision of these materials is voluntary, and they will only be published with your permission.
3. Data sharing
Access to your data is limited to authorised individuals involved in the application review process.
Where necessary, IUNS may contact your affiliated Adhering Body to verify information provided in your application, including eligibility and good standing status.
4. Data storage and retention
Application data is stored securely within the application system and retained only for as long as necessary for the assessment and administrative process. Data will then be deleted or anonymised.
5. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, subject to applicable legal and administrative requirements.
6. Consent
By submitting an application, applicants confirm that they have read and understood this Privacy Notice and consent to the processing of their personal data as described above.
