Dr Rubina Hakeem
Dr Rubina Hakeem is currently serving as the Chief Nutritionist and Head of the Department of Human Nutrition and Dietetics at Ziauddin University Karachi, Pakistan. She has earlier served as the Principal and Professor of Nutrition, at Raana Laiqat Ali Khan College of Home Economics, Karachi and as Professor at Taibah University, Madinah Saudi Arabia for three years. She is a fellow of the Association for Nutrition, UK. Fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and is registered as a dietitian with the Health Professions Council, UK. She is chairperson of the Nutrition Foundation of Pakistan, a Member of The American Society for Nutrition, the World Public Health Nutrition Association, the International Federation of Home Economics and Diabetes in Asia Study group. She represents LMIC on the membership committee of The Nutrition Society, UK. She received a master’s degree from Karachi University, Pakistan and a Doctorate from the University of London, UK.
Her research interests include Maternal and child nutrition. Chronic disease nutrition, Culinary Nutrition, International nutrition, and Nutrition education. She has received several awards in recognition of her services to the fields of nutrition, diabetes, higher education, and research.
