The IUNS Living Legends Awards, given at the ICN, honour individuals aged 80 or above for their notable contributions to their national nutrition body or regional organisation.

The awards are announced at the IUNS-ICN every four years. Living Legend Awards were first presented at the 20th ICN in Granada, Spain in 2013. There is no limitation on the number of IUNS Living Legend Awards presented during each ICN. 

Nominations:

Adhering Bodies in good standing can nominate members of their organisation over 80 years of age to receive an ‘IUNS Living Legend’ award. There is no limitation on the number of candidates you can submit. Current IUNS Council members are not eligible for award nominations. 

Individual members of Adhering Bodies in good standing who are eighty (80) years old or above, within the same calendar year as the IUNS-ICN are eligible to be nominated.

The IUNS Awards Committee assesses candidates on their contribution to the work of the national nutrition society or regional organization. 

Nominations must include:

• A completed online application form
• The candidates’ date of birth
• The candidates’ photo (headshot)
• The candidates’ brief biographies related to their CVs and achievements
