About the IUNS-ICN
Every four years since 1946, the International Union of Nutritional Sciences (IUNS) has brought together experts from around the globe at the IUNS-International Congress of Nutrition (IUNS-ICN). Chosen by the General Assembly of IUNS members after presentations by bidding member countries, the host city becomes a hub of groundbreaking research and discussion in nutritional sciences.
The IUNS-ICN is a vibrant gathering designed to foster the exchange of knowledge and ideas. The scientific programme is rich and diverse, featuring plenary and keynote lectures, parallel symposia, sponsored sessions, and satellite symposia.
From humble beginnings with just 22 academics attending the first congress in 1946, the IUNS-ICN now attracts 3,000 to 4,000 participants, drawing in a global audience eager to learn and collaborate. Recent Congresses have been held in exciting locations such as Buenos Aires, Argentina; Granada, Spain; Bangkok, Thailand; and Tokyo, Japan.
The latest event, the 23rd IUNS-ICN, took place in Paris, France, from 24 August to Friday, 29 August 2025, under the theme ” SUSTAINABLE FOOD FOR GLOBAL HEALTH”.
